About Jane Again

Jane Again, blackwork tattoo artist in Mexico City

Hey, I'm Jane — a Siberian-born blackwork, line work, illustrative, and graphic tattoo artist living and working in Mexico City.

I got my education in classical arts and spent years working in the architectural field across Russia, Georgia, and Spain. That background strongly shapes my approach: in my tattoos, I blend minimalist blackwork with sharp, architecturally precise linework — playing with scale, volume, and the relationship between the design and the anatomy of the body. The work leans illustrative and graphic, rendered entirely in black ink — from bold filled shapes to fine, precise linework.

I work across the full spectrum of skin tones and pay close attention to dark and black skin — adjusting line weight, contrast, and density so each piece settles the way it should.

My work moves across formats — tattoo, street art, and limited edition prints — and keeps circling the same themes: identity, intimacy, feminism, migration, queer experience, memory, and the absurdity of everyday life. My mission is to tell those stories through the language of graphic forms. Many of the ideas come from personal experience, but the most important part of my process is continuous exploration, where the main source is people. I draw inspiration from those I meet — how they feel, how they see the world, and who they are.

I'm based in Condesa, Mexico City, and travel regularly for guest spots across Europe, the US, and Latin America — recent and upcoming stops include Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Los Angeles, with more on the way. I announce dates on my Instagram. I speak English, Spanish, and Russian, so you can reach out in whichever feels easiest.

My art is also my safe place. And I want it to become yours, no matter who you are.
